Modern stadiums prioritize revenue generation over simply hosting spectators. The SuperDome in New Orleans was designed to encourage spending through advertisements, premium seating, and efficient services. Features like club seats, luxury suites, and self-serve concessions help maximize profits.
Originally, a stadium was to let people watch the game. However, the stadium nowadays is created to make revenues and to gain profit off of the customers. SuperDome, in New Orleans, was built to motivate people to spend money and to make advertisements. For instance, the construction of the SuperDome consists of big entrances for the ticket holders and focus on the size of the seats to generate more money, not to have more people watch the game. Bathrooms and other services advanced, helping people to use them faster and better. Belly up concessions are also prevalent, allowing guests to grab their own items, saving kitchen space.
There are also club seats and expensive suites in the SuperDome to increase the revenue stream. The current stadiums care about the investment returns and make decisions that will generate more revenue.
